Call for Volunteers: Events Committee

AAQEP seeks volunteers to serve on its Events Committee. Applications for 2023 are due Thursday, June 1, for appointments that commence July 1.

Term of Service

Appointments to the Events Committee will be for a term of 3 years, from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026.

About the Committee

The Events Committee is a 12-person advisory committee whose primary function is helping staff to design, solicit, and peer-review content for the AAQEP Quality Assurance Symposium, an annual conference held in late March or early April. The committee may also be asked to advise the association on developing other events.

Time Commitment & Meetings

All meetings of the Events Committee will be held virtually, and all work will be completed electronically. No travel is required, although committee members are encouraged to attend the symposium each year, where they can assist with hosting responsibilities and be recognized publicly.

Committee members should be available to participate in both monthly Zoom meetings and asynchronous assignments, especially in late summer and early fall during peer review of session proposals.

For the 2023-24 academic year, the following meetings are planned:

  • July 18, 1:00-2:30 EDT (attendance REQUIRED)
  • August 9, 1:00-2:30 EDT (attendance REQUIRED)
  • October 11, 1:00-2:30 EDT (attendance REQUIRED)
  • November 28, 1:00-2:00 EST
  • January 23, 1:00-2:00 EST
  • February 27, 1:00-2:00 EST
  • March 26, 1:00-2:00 EDT
  • April 4-5 – 2024 Quality Assurance Symposium, Orlando (attendance OPTIONAL)
  • April 23, 1:00-2:00 EDT
  • May 28, 1:00-2:00 EDT

Eligibility

The most important criterion for appointment to the Events Committee is experience with planning or participating in events similar to the Quality Assurance Symposium. AAQEP membership is not required, but preference will be given to applicants from member providers. Events Committee members who are not affiliated with a member provider will receive complimentary individual membership in AAQEP for the duration of their appointment.
