Exploring AAQEP Aspect 2d for Elementary Educator Preparation

By Casey Graham Brown, University of Texas at Arlington - In April, a group of faculty and administrators who prepare elementary and early childhood teachers from across the country participated in an online “AAQEP Collaborative Conversation” centered on AAQEP Aspect 2d (support students’ growth in international and global perspectives). I was happy to facilitate this session with the goal of discussing program-specific assessments and rubrics that faculty use in their preparation programs and brainstorming ways to meet the specific AAQEP aspect.

AAQEP Framework: A Review

By Nancy F. Barrett - Accreditation has the potential to be a powerful, positive tool for education preparation programs. In addition to providing a “seal of approval” to potential students, parents and external stakeholders, programs can use evidence gathered during the accreditation process to improve existing programs, identify potential new initiatives as well as document outcome attainment.
