Connecting on TPA Implementation: A NYS Conversation
In the 2023-24 academic year, New York State educator preparation providers implemented new teacher performance assessments (TPAs) as a program completion requirement for initial certification programs. Summer of 2024 brings the opportunity to review the results of those assessments.
A recent survey of a sample of AAQEP members in the state found a strong interest in convening to share TPA experiences. This conversation webinar will begin that collaboration and inform possible future convenings by engaging participants in four questions:
- What successes and benefits have you seen from implementing TPAs?
- What challenges and opportunities for improvement have you seen?
- How is rating/calibration progressing, and what (if any) challenges are you finding?
- What kind of in-person or virtual convenings might be useful to further support your TPA work this summer or fall?
Registration is free but required to reserve your spot. The conversation also will be recorded and available to listen to after the meeting.
