Exploring AAQEP Aspect 2d for Elementary Educator Preparation

By Casey Graham Brown, University of Texas at Arlington - In April, a group of faculty and administrators who prepare elementary and early childhood teachers from across the country participated in an online “AAQEP Collaborative Conversation” centered on AAQEP Aspect 2d (support students’ growth in international and global perspectives). I was happy to facilitate this session with the goal of discussing program-specific assessments and rubrics that faculty use in their preparation programs and brainstorming ways to meet the specific AAQEP aspect.


This Ill Wind: The Good We’ve Seen, the Changes to Come

By Mark LaCelle-Peterson - As this strange semester comes to a close, we can pause to reflect on what we’ve learned so far and to think critically about what lies ahead—the knowns as well as the unknowns. Like all ill winds, this one has blown in a few good lessons already. But navigating in its wake will demand careful planning, flexibility, and responsive innovation; success for all of us across the P-20 system will depend on collaboration and partnership.
