Preoperational Recognition
Preoperational Recognition of Capacity for New Programs
AAQEP partners with state program authorizers to conduct preoperational capacity reviews of proposed educator preparation programs based on the AAQEP standards. The intent of such reviews is to determine whether a prospective provider has the capacity to prepare educators well.
These reviews are designed and carried out in partnership with the state authorizer and are conducted using the AAQEP standards as a framework. Once the review is complete, the AAQEP Accreditation Commission issues a decision either affirming capacity, with or without areas of concern to be addressed, or finding insufficient capacity. The Accreditation Commission has awarded New Program Recognition of Capacity to the following providers for the term listed:
- March 1, 2019 – February 28, 2022: Teach Away Teacher Certification Program (for operation in the state of Hawaii)
